Whither goes the weather market?
01 October 2009The market for weather risk management products has been around for more than 11 years now, having survived the early decade implosion of the energy merchants that founded the market as well as the recent credit crisis and massive deleveraging that the financial markets have experienced over the past 18 months. I think it's safe to say that – barring draconian legislation out of Washington on financial market reform – weather risk management has established itself as a valuable proposition for companies and government entities around the world and is here to stay.
