Winners of the Sustainable Company Awards 2024 revealed

The winners of the 2024 Environmental Finance Sustainable Company Awards have been unveiled, recognising best practice and innovation in corporate sustainability.

Overseen by a panel of independent industry judges, this year's awards attracted hundreds of entries.

Among this year's winners was Mardi McBrien – chief of strategic affairs and capacity building at the International financial Reporting Standards – who was named Sustainability thought leader, EMEA.

BTG Pactual Timberland Investment Group chief sustainability officer Mark Wishnie was named Sustainable business leader of the year for the Americas.

Meanwhile, Jose Manuel Entrecanales chief executive of Spanish energy giant Acciona was named as this year's Net zero champion.

There were also awards for UBS, Unicredit, S&P Global, FutureTracker, Climate Asset Management, Nedbank and Iceberg Data Lab among many others.

Jindal Stainless received two awards making it the biggest winner this year, and all categories were highly contested.

Environmental Finance received many examples of first-class sustainability reporting, net zero progression success, strong diversity and inclusion programmes, effective water stewardship, high-quality nature-based and circular economy solutions and best supply chain practices.

"Once again, we have received much evidence of the exceptional work on sustainability from companies located around the world and across a range of industries," said Environmental Finance news editor Rob Langston.

"We would like to extend our congratulations to all the winners of the 2024 awards, they continue to identify leadership in many of the important – but often overlooked –areas of sustainability.

"We are extremely grateful to our independent judges who have taken the time and effort to assess the many high-quality entries we received this year."
