The winners of Environmental Finance's 2023 Impact Awards have been announced.
The annual awards seek to recognise and reward the work of impact investors, highlight best practice, and thought leadership across all asset classes and all geographies.
The winners were selected by an independent panel of impact investment experts, based on information relating to the period between 1 April 2022 and 30 September 2023.
Among the notable winners were:
- Nuveen, which has scooped three awards across different arms of the business. The fixed income impact investment team won Investment team of the year - asset manager and Fund of the year - fixed income for its $130 million TIAA-CREF Green Bond Fund, while the Nuveen Natural Capital Poland's nature positive farming initiative has won the award for Innovation/invention of the year.
- Mirova is also a big winner with Mathilde Dufour, Mirova's head of sustainability research, winning Personality of the year, and the asset manager receiving accolades for Fund of the year - listed equity for the Mirova Global Sustainable Equity Fund and Fund of the year - private equity for the Mirova Environment Acceleration Capital.
- Another multi-award winner was Channel which wins Private debt provider of the year, Impact initiative of the year - North America and Impact project/investment of the year: financial services (including fintech).
- The Young professional of the year/rising star award goes to Catherine Macaulay, impact investment lead at Schroders.
