"There is a lot of ESG data available out there, but if you are looking for a particular metric with full coverage across all of your portfolio, you are going to struggle a bit", said NN Investment Partners' Isobel Edwards.
Participating in a panel discussion at Environmental Finance's ESG In Fixed Income EMEA 2022 conference in London, she added: "There are several data points that investors can use for sovereigns. However, calculating data can be quite complicated.
"It's important to consider all the ESG data points available, such as NDC tracker, carbon intensity, various methodologies to calculate scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, so it is all about creating your own methodology as an investor."
