Abrdn launches thematic engagement roadmap

Abrdn has published its active equities’ three-year engagement roadmap, focused on corporate governance, climate change, cyber security and supply chain management and human rights.

The four themes cover the areas of most importance in regard to financial materiality for investors in actively-managed listed equities, it said. The roadmap aligns with the UK Stewardship Code and its Guiding Principles.

Climate change within abrdn’s framework covers driving decarbonisation and prioritising the Just Transition.

Supply chain management and human risks refers to a commitment of research and analysis on labour and supply chain issues, “taking a zero tolerance for forced labour in supply chains”.

Andrew Mason, head of active ownership at abrdn, said: “Our aim is to both enhance and preserve the value of our clients’ investments by considering a broad range of factors that impact on the long-term success of the company.”
