Brief description of the data offering

Gender Equality and Diversity & Inclusion

Equileap holistically measures a company’s gender equality and diversity & inclusion performance based on its proprietary Gender Equality Scorecard™ including 21 main indicators and 48 sub-metrics on:

  • Gender balance across the workforce;
  • Gender pay gap;
  • Paid parental leave;
  • Anti-sexual harassment policies;
  • Policies to support gender equality, such as flexible working, training and career development, non-discrimination in recruitment and more;
  • Human rights, including living wages and health and safety;
  • Inclusion of non-binary employees;
  • Supply chain: Our dataset also covers companies’ social impact in the supply chain, looking into living wage commitments, supplier diversity programs (women-owned businesses), and policies prohibiting sexual harassment, forced labour, child labour and human trafficking.

We also document controversies covering detailed gender, race & ethnicity, and LGBTQ+ discrimination.

Benchmark report- NEW
Companies can commission a personalised report, for a price, including a detailed breakdown of their performance against Equileap’s 21 indicators compared to selected peers as well as their sector, country and global averages. The report also provides specific areas for improvement in gender equality and diversity & inclusion.

Race & Ethnicity- NEW 2024

Equileap has developed a unique and comprehensive method to assess racial and ethnic diversity within a company. Equileap’s Race and Ethnic Diversity Scorecard evaluates:

  • Racial and ethnic diversity across the workforce;
  • Pay data;
  • Promotion and career development opportunities for diverse employees;
  • Supply chain diversity (ethnic-minority-owned business).

Research on U.S. companies is currently underway; Equileap’s first race & ethnicity dataset will be available by the end of 2024.

Where and how do you source your data?

Equileap has implemented a clearly documented, rules-based data collection and assessment process. The Equileap research team conducts its research by assessing publicly available information such as corporate sustainability reports, annual reports, filings, company websites etc. The team also tracks gender-related controversies. Assessments undergo a rigorous quality assurance process including peer review. In addition, companies are given the opportunity to directly engage with analysts during the annual research update and are invited to review a data validation report.
