Environmental Finance, is hosting the second annual Green Bonds Asia conference in Hong Kong on 8th October 2019.
The HKMA recently announced three sets of measures on sustainable banking and finance including plans to further grow the Exchange Fund’s green bond portfolio. It also announced the start of investor meetings for the roadshow for the potential green bond offering by the HKSAR Government.
One of the most significant growth opportunities in the capital markets today is in green bonds. This opportunity is driven by demographic, economic, and climate changes that will require trillions of dollars of investment, and potentially provide investors with substantial returns.Issuance in Asia is dominated by China with over $100 billion of bonds issued in the country, since the inception of the green bond market. Hong Kong, is well placed to catalyse the funding of low-carbon investment and financing in the region.
This event will focus on bringing bond issuers and investors to discuss opportunities in green finance, and exchange views on how to scale the global green bond market.
