"Eager to illustrate the imperfections and pertaining issues" is how Munich-based fund-of-funds investor Golding Capital Partners described the transparency of its inaugural sustainability report, which secured its victory in the Best sustainability reporting by an asset or fund manager in the medium and small category.
Published in late 2023, the report provided insights into the investor's sustainable investing methodologies, highlighted focus areas, and spotlighted the firm's own sustainability efforts. It also detailed its ESG risks via a risk heat map, the portfolio's greenhouse gas emissions footprint, and its data collection and reporting methods.
"We are very excited that our first ever sustainability report was recognised with this award," said Christian Schütz, managing director and head of sustainable investing. "Our report sought to showcase where we stand with our investments but also as an organisation on sustainability and ESG.
"However, we were also eager to illustrate the imperfections and pertaining issues, providing our plans for the road ahead, which is what we delivered with the report. The motivation of Golding, our vision and ultimately our investment solutions developed over the past years, and in 2023 we felt ready consolidate it on our sustainability report.
"Making our findings publicly available was an important milestone for us, and we believe also for the broader private market."
