Sustainable Company Awards 2024

Community involvement programme of the year, Americas: The Envoy Group

Bringing together the food and energy industries in the US Midwest region, the Indiana Climate Summit (In-Climate) aims to have a dialogue and build practical, productive policy to guide agriculture as a sustainable solution to climate issues in Indiana.

As more companies are making sustainability practices a requirement In-Climate aims to address agriculture's role here. Educating, informing, sharing knowledge and expertise to create a dialogue around building agriculture as a climate solution is at the centre of the summit's purpose.

In addition to the summit which brings together industry professionals across agriculture, energy and climate sectors with government officials, In Climate also conducts regular roundtable sessions to allow discussions to continue in a smaller setting in order to seek common ground and collaboration.

Sarah Beth Aubrey"When we founded In-Climate three years ago, we knew that we were trailblazing in the space. The members and sponsors of this programme and the educational content and networking that we have brought forward give me so much pride," said Sarah Beth Aubrey, chief executive of the Envoy Group. "I'm honoured to be able to field these efforts to showcase to the world the importance of the agriculture supply chain in sustainability and demonstrate the progress this industry continues to make."

This year In-Climate launched a new event focusing on women in sustainability roles in their companies. The Women in Sustainability Experience (WISE) aims to provide educational resources for women taking these new roles without mentors or individuals preceding them, whilst also assessing what sustainability looks like in a global corporation.

The In-Climate Summit rests on six pillars of the climate agriculture conversation. These are; Carbon Markets and Carbon Sequestration, Sustainability and Conservation, Renewable Energy and Energy Transition, Advanced Biofuels and Renewable Fuels, Green Finance and Climate Smart Funding, Consumer Pressures and Public Perception.
