Naturemetrics was named as winner of the 'Naturetech investment/initiative of the year' with judges highlighting some of the nature intelligence specialist's key initiatives throughout the prior 12 months.
A "world-first" nature intelligence platform powered by environmental DNA (eDNA) technology was launched by NatureMetrics in October 2023, which has provided clients with meaningful insights to take action and report in line with the growing range of nature reporting requirements.
The platform has followed the launch of the platform with other initiatives, such as the launch of its Restoration Tracker product to measure soil ecosystem restoration.
Other initiatives have included the launch of the NatureTech Alliance at the World Economic Forum – alongside sustainability consultants ERM, data specialist Salesforce and satellite imagery and analysis company Planet – to help companies tackle biodiversity measurement, management and disclosure challenges.
Another collaboration with Accounting for Nature, which it said will help "enhance corporate nature measurement and reporting by promoting standardisation and scientific rigour" in the industry.
"Naturemetrics has demonstrated a commitment and ambition to innovation in the naturetech space," one judge noted "We look forward to seeing what their next step will be."
"We are honoured to receive this recognition from the Environmental Finance Impact Awards," said Dimple Patel, CEO of NatureMetrics. "It highlights the urgent need for solutions that can accurately map biodiversity at scale in a rapidly evolving reporting landscape.
"At NatureMetrics, we believe nature data is the cornerstone for driving meaningful action to protect and restore biodiversity. This award demonstrates the global shift toward prioritising nature as a critical part of our economic resilience. The movement is growing rapidly, and we're excited to be at the forefront, equipping organisations with the tools to turn nature insight into impactful change."
